The Ivory Pintail has dark eyes with a bluish-black hue and white jaws. Its body is mostly black with a noticeable ivory patch on the upper middle of the abdomen and small ivory terminal appendages. It lives near swamps in Africa, where it is widespread.

How to recognize it

Eyes are bluish-black with white jaws. Body is almost entirely black, except for a large ivory patch on the upper-middle abdomen. Terminal abdominal appendages are small and ivory-colored. The pterostigma is long and solid black.
