The butterfly has a wingspan of about 57 mm (2.2 in). Its wings are dark blue with pale streaks near the thorax, and the underside shows pale red-brown coloration with darker edges and faint streaks toward the middle. It is native to Brazil.

How to recognize it
The upper side of the wings is a very dark, changeable blue with a pale streak crossing near each side of the thorax and several smaller streaks elsewhere. The underside of the wings is pale red-brown, darker along the outer edges, and shows two faint streaks that run from the edges toward the wing centers.
